With Easter almost upon us, there are a number of ceremonies taking place in Longford to mark Holy Week.
Today, Good Friday, April 18, there will be no Mass celebrated. However, the Celebration of Our Lord’s Passion will take place at 3pm at St Mel’s Cathedral Centre.
At 8pm tonight, St Mel’s Cathedral Centre will host the Stations of the Cross, and confessions will take place afterwards until 9.30pm at St Mel’s College Chapel.
On Holy Saturday, April 19, there will be no morning Mass celebrated. Confessions will be heard from 10.30am until 6pm in St Mel’s Cathedral Centre. The Easter Vigil will then take place in the Centre at 9pm.
On Easter Sunday morning, Dawn Mass will be said at 5.45am in the Famine Grounds behind St Joseph’s Hospital, which will replace the 8am Mass.
Mass will be said at 10am, 11.30am and 1pm at St Mel’s Cathedral Centre. Easter Sunday Mass will take place at Curry and Shroid at 9.30am and 10.30am respectively.
At St Joseph’s, the Celebration of Our Lord’s Passion will take place today, Good Friday, April 18 at 1.30pm. Easter Sunday Mass will be held in St Joseph’s at 11am.
