Tributes paid to tragic north Longford woman

The identity of a pedestrian who was fatally injured along a stretch of the main N4 near Edgeworthstown on Sunday evening has been revealed as 74-year-old Bridie OHara, Aughamore, Granard.

A pedestrian who was killed while attempting to cross the main N4 just outside Edgeworthstown on Sunday evening, has been named as 74-year-old Bridie O’Hara from Aughamore, Granard.

Mrs O’Hara, who more recently had been residing at nearby Ballinacross, was fatally injured while attempting to cross the road at Lisnagrish, Edgeworthstown shortly after 7:30pm.

Her Funeral Mass is scheduled to take place tomorrow (Wednesday) to St. Mary’s Church, Boherquill, Co. Westmeath at 12 noon.

Meanwhile, tributes have been paid to the popular community activist who was both a member of her local Abbeylara Active Retirement Group and Tidy Towns Committee.
