Elderly woman killed in Edgeworthstown road accident

Gardai are seeking information.
An elderly woman has died after she was fatally injured crossiing the road at the N4 at Lisnagrish, Edgeworthstown yesterday, Sunday, evening. The incident occured around 7.45pm.

An elderly woman has died after she was fatally injured crossiing the road at the N4 at Lisnagrish, Edgeworthstown yesterday, Sunday, evening. The incident occured around 7.45pm.

The deceased woman, who was 74 years old was removed to Longford/Westmeath General Hospital, Mullingar, County Westmeath, and a post mortem is due to take place at Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, County Offaly, this morning.

The N4, at Lisnagrish, was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.
