GUN CLUB: Bornacoola Gun Club will host their annual Christmas monster draw on Friday December 17th in the Copper Still Dromod over fifty prizes to be won. Cards are available from any gun club member.

We would like to extend our congratulations to Brendan Duignan, Cloonturk on being named Leitrim gaa "Club Hurler of the Year". Brendan is a very hardworking member of Bornacoola gaa club playing on the Div 3 and Div 5 teams he also helps out a lot in the coaching. He play's his hurling with Gortlettragh and it was on his fine performances this year for the Gortlettragh hurlers he earned himself this honour. Very well deserved Brendan and I hope you have a great night at the awards ceremony.
Bornacoola gaa club AGM will take place on Saturday, 11th December at 7.30pm in Bornacoola Community Centre. Nomination papers have been circulated to club members and it is vital you get them back to Shane in good time. We would appeal to all members to attend.

We would like to offer our condolences to the family and friends of Michael Cunningham, Drimmien. Mohill who died on Saturday last at his home. Michael was laid to rest in Cloone cemetery on Monday last. May he Rest in Peace.
Congratulations to Conor McCauley, Gort on graduating with his degree in Quantity Surveying from Sligo I.T. Conor travelled home last week from Edinburgh where he is studying for his final year to attend the Ceremony in Sligo. We wish you all the best for the future Conor.
We would like to extend our congratulations to Mr John McGuinness, Clooncarne and Miss Fiona Byrne, Mallow, Co. Cork who were married in St Michael's Church, Bornacoola on Saturday last with their reception afterwards in Lough Rynn Castle. After all the snow, frost and fog nearly all John and Fiona's family and friends made it to lovely Leitrim for their big day. John has been a stalwart in the Bornacoola Gaa for many years both playing and helping out coaching underage; Fiona is joining a small elite group that has graced our area from the rebel county. We wish you many years of health and happiness for the future.
Annaduff gaa will hold a club meeting to-night Wednesday December 8th at 8pm sharp in Dressing Rooms. All members are requested to attend.

It seems a very short time since we were walking around Bornacoola gaa pitch in the frost and fog for the annual goal mile anyway it is nearly round to that time again and a note in from organiser Noel Mahon tell us that the 7th annual Leitrim Goal Mile will take place on New Years day Jan. 1st 2011 at the Bornacoola gaa club grounds. Special guests attending will be Charlie McGettigan, Mick Flavin, Declan Nerney, Longford pipe band, O'Neill dancing school. Following the walk there will be the usual refreshments and entertainment in The Copper still with music by the Rodeo Man and of course Tommy will take the stand for the auction.
