DANCE SUCCESS: The CRN Shannon Western Regional Championship was held over a two day period recently in Four Mile House, Co. Roscommon.
The Regional Championships act as a means of qualification for the All Ireland CRN Irish Dancing Championships, which will be held in the City West Hotel and Conference Centre, Dublin in May 2011. Following spectacular performances in both solo and team competitions forty eight pupils from the Mc Cartin S.D. qualified for the All Ireland Championships.
The Championships attracted an entry of over four hundred dancers from
across the west and midlands. The following pupils from the Mc Cartin

Following the cancellation of the Bazaar in the Community Centre on last Friday night the fundraiser will start on next Friday night December 9th following the Bingo session, and will end on Sunday night.

President Mary McAleese has recently launched a Link Schools Programme- Partners in Development. The project is aimed at linking Irish schools with schools in Ghana, South Africa, Malawi and Uganda. The sharing exercise is meant to promote interaction between the linked schools, enabling pupils to gain an insight into both the similarities and differences between Ireland and Africa. The pupils and teaching staff of St. Mary's N.S. Drumlea are engaging in a partnership with their counterparts in Nyakaterarmire School in Uganda.
