CHRISTMAS DAY RUN

The Annual Christmas Day Run from Newtowncashel to Lanesborough in aid of the Longford branch of MS Ireland is being organised again for the 20th year. As a result of this event approximately €147,000 has been raised for Multiple Sclerosis. All are welcome, walkers start from the Hill at 11.45 am and runners at 12.15, finish at the Hall in Lanesborough where refreshments are available. All participants will receive a free t-shirt kindly sponsored by Peter Hanley Motors. We would greatly appreciate your support as this is in aid of a very worthy cause. Longford MS has come to depend on this event over the past 19 years and would like to extend their appreciation for the effort given.

SCHOOL CHRISTMAS CONCERT

The School concert takes place on Monday Dec 20th in "The Hill" at 8pm. The children are working hard at rehearsals and your support on the night would be greatly appreciated. Anyone who wishes to sponsor a raffle prize on the night should contact Sean Casey (086) 266 0097.

CASHEL FOLK GROUP – JUNIOR CHOIR

A great rehearsal took place last Saturday evening. Rehearsals for the Christmas Day Children's Mass will continue this Saturday evening, December 11th, from 5.30 – 6.30pm in the Church. All children wishing to participate are invited!

Saturday's rehearsal will also cover liturgical song and music for the Do This In Memory Mass on Sunday December 12th at 10.30am.

ABBEYSHRULE TIDY VILLAGES ASSOCIATION CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR

Abbeyshrule Tidy Villages Association Christmas Craft Fair will take place at the Rustic Inn Abbeyshrule on Sunday December 12th from 12.00 noon to 6.00pm. The fair will present a magical family programme, generating a warm Christmas spirit. Up to twenty-five local craft and food stands are anticipated, together with carol singing, children's story telling, card making and art illustration. Santa and Mrs Claus hope to "fly in" from Lapland and Mrs Claus plans to gather children around her dedicated storytelling space. All are welcome.
