A major white collar boxing fundraising initiative will kick off later this week and all for a very worthy cause.

Killashee GFC has gathered the whole community together for this one off and unique fundraiser that will see plenty of competition on the night as well as thousands of euro raised for the club.

The event kicks off on this Saturday, December 8 next at the Longford Arms Hotel at 8pm and the members of the St Brigid’s side will battle it out with participants from other GAA clubs around the county in an effort to earn some local prestige on the night.

Participants include: Donal McElvaney; John Twaddle; Dave McMahon; Ciaran Casserly; Johnny Casey; Johnny Gilna; Mark Quinn; Shane Henry; Paddy Corrigan; Enda Farrell; Francis Dolan; Stephan Adams; Michael Farrell; Steven Conway; Slavek Surma; Conor Casey and Alan McCormick.

“Also on the night, we will have another very serious competition with the rematch of Alex Small (Granard) and Terry Drake (Abbeylara),” a spokesperson added. “This will be a widely anticipated meeting and will generate plenty of excitement both north and south of the county.

“All the lads have put in huge effort with this fundraiser and in getting prepared for the big night, so we want everyone to come out and support all these brave men. A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed and it will also set a most appropriate tone for what will be, by then, the start of the festive season.”
