Who will be this year’s King and Queen of the Grad?

As the grad season draws to a close, momentum is building for the selection of the King and Queen of the Grad 2011. The King and Queen of the Prom is a long-standing tradition in the US but until now the concept hasn’t really taken off in Ireland. However the Longford Leader and Stephens Cooke & Associates have set out to change all that. After all, a huge amount of time and effort goes into preparing for a grad - why not get a little extra reward for it?

The chosen “royal couple” will walk away with a €250 euro cash prize sponsored by Stephens Coooke & Associates between them plus a range of great prizes including a wash, cut and blow dry from Zara Salon and a photoshoot with photographer Shelley Corcoran. Finally, the Queen will also pick up a €100 voucher for Aine’s Boutique and make-up including tan and nails from Chic Beauty Salon in Longford town.

If you have already attended a grad this summer and your picture appeared in the Longford Leader then you have gained automatic entry to the competition but even if it didn’t you need only send your picture to longfordkingandqueen@gmail.com to submit your entry. At the closing of the Grad season, a shortlist of couples will be drafted and a voting process will ensue to conclude a winning duo. The deadline for photographs is August 23.
