Longford farmers are being urged to be vigilant after 75 cattle and 25 sheep were stolen in neighbouring Westmeath.

Longford farmers are being urged to be vigilant after 75 cattle and 25 sheep were stolen in neighbouring Westmeath.

Gardaí investigating the theft of the livestock are seeking the public’s assistance.

The theft occurred between 9pm on Wednesday, June 24 and 1.15pm on Thursday, June 25 from lands at Cornaher, Kilbeggan which is situated close to the N6, Old Dublin Road between Kilbeggan and Tyrrellspass.
