One of Granard town’s landmark buildings, the former Houricans Hotel premises, has been successfully sold at auction.
The property went under the hammer at the Allsop Space Property Auction in the RDS, Dublin, earlier today and was sold after a bid of €65,000 was placed on it, which matched the reserve price.
It was the second time this year the property was auctioned, having been previously offered at Allsop’s February sale where bids failed to meet a reserve price of €90,000.
The hotel, which is located on Main Street in Granard, has been vacant for some time and the majority of its fixtures and fittings have been removed. It consists of a basement and three upper floors, with space for a reception area, bar and lounge, kitchens, restaurant, function room, 18 bedrooms, and a two-bedroom mews cottage and car-park at the rear.
Another Granard town property, the former Super Bites premises, was also sold at today’s Allsop Space auction after attracting a bid of €75,000.
