Another housing estate on the outskirts of Longford town may be in line to be taken in charge by Longford County Council, it emerged this week.
Cllr Mae Sexton asked members of the authority’s executive to run the rule over the Foynescourt development, which is situated just off the main Longford to Drumlish road.
“I thought we should have done this years and years ago,” she said at last Wednesday’s monthly council meeting.
Cllr Sexton also heaped praise on the patience of local homeowners.
“It’s (estate) such a long time built and they (residents) really are are the quietest I have ever dealt with,” she said.
