Fears of threat to MiDoc

Concerns are rife over the alleged downgrading of the MiDoc service in Co Longford this week, after it emerged that the service is to be reduced in the county to facilitate its expansion into Edenderry and Rhode in Co Offaly.

Concerns are rife over the alleged downgrading of the MiDoc service in Co Longford this week, after it emerged that the service is to be reduced in the county to facilitate its expansion into Edenderry and Rhode in Co Offaly.

The Leader understands that the hours, to which the MiDoc transport vehicle is made available in Longford, will be reduced, resulting in the cessation of that service between the hours of 1am and 8am. Those requiring medical assistance from MiDoc inside of those hours, will therefore, be required to make their own way to the treatment centre based at St Joseph’s Care Centre in Longford town.
