The Stead family of Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim, are desperately seeking their family pets – two six month old pups named Dave and Baz. The family, spear-headed by father Steve, have launched a nationwide campaign entitled ‘In Search of Dave and Baz’.

“We have tried our best locally with fliers door to door, and posters in shops, pubs etc. The Leitrim Observer, local radio, Shannonside FM and OceanFM, parish support, county dog wardens, the ISPCA and animal rescues. We’ve also attended marts, and posted messages on our town’s facebook page ‘Pride in Drumshanbo’ and www.drumshanbo.ie. All this along with a small army of friends looking out for them,” said Steve, husband to Lia and father to Hugh (10) Minnie (8) and Tilly (4). “At this stage we feel our beloved pets may have left the county. However, we feel that your support would be of massive benefit to help bring about a happy ending and reunite our family with our family pets.”

Dave and Baz are jet black in colour and a Lab/Boxer cross. They were last seen on Friday October 21 2011 in the Drumcong, Drumshanbo area of Leitrim. They were wearing two collars each - a red electric fence collar and a black leather collar with tags. They are also chipped.

“We truly believe that with your support we could have a happy ending! We would hope that we have a better chance to be reunited with Dave and Baz,” said Steve. “These are our first family dogs. We are gutted and feel very upset that our family pets have gone missing and just hope that someone is currently looking after them and that we can be reunited with them soon.

“The pups cost me nothing, not a cent and have no value as a pedigree but are worth so much sentimentally. We miss them so much! This is a genuine request for help on behalf of my family!”
