AGM of Active Age Group: Drumreilly Active Age Group held its Annual General Meeting in the Community Centre on last Wednesday night.

In her address Chairperson Riny Jannink welcomed all present, and thanked all who contributed to another successful year. The Group's Constitution was adopted after being read by Secretary Frances O Reilly. The Secretary, having read the Minutes of the 2010 A.G.M. gave a comprehensive account of the activities of a busy 2010, and was lavish in her praise of her fellow officers and all who in various ways helped with the various events. A well-researched financial statement was presented by Assistant Treasurer Anna Maxwell. The following officers were elected for the coming year: Chairperson: Tess Gallogly; Vice-Chairperson: Riny Jannink; Secretary: Pat Conefrey; Asst. Secretary: Frances O Reilly; Joint Treasurers: Anna Maxwell and Ciaran Holahan; P.R.Os: Pat Gallogly and Christy O Reilly. In the course of a lengthy discussion which followed, the main items aired were as follows: the Yoga Courses, the St. Valentine's Social and the Bealtaine Social, the forthcoming South Leitrim Forum, the Christmas Wreaths returns, Membership Fees and the Fun and Games Day in Ck on Shannon, Finance and the weekly meetings and procedure. A five-week Yoga Course will be held in Drumreilly Community Centre on Thursday evenings, between 5.00 pm. And 6.00 p.m. beginning on Thursday next January 27th. All who have not already applied for inclusion should contact the Secretary at 049 433516 or any other officer before Thursday. It is important to be in the building before 5.00 p.m. The dates of the St. Valentine's and Bealtaine Socials are Monday February 14th and Monday May 2nd respectively. The South Leitrim Forum will take place on Wednesday next May 26th in Fenagh at 3.00 p.m. The returns from the making and sale of Christmas wreaths will be discussed at the weekly meeting on next Wednesday. The Membership Fees of €20 should be given to Anna Maxwell or Ciaran Holahan before January 31st. All interested in a Fun and Games Session which includes Tchi Dancing etc. on Thursday 17th of February between 11.00 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. in the Bush Hotel, Ck on Shannon should forward their names to the Secretary as soon as possible. The fee is €5. The weekly meeting will take place as usual in the Community Centre on Wednesday January 26th.

Community Care Party

The Carrigallen/Drumreilly Community Care Party, which was earlier postponed because of the bad weather, will take place on Sunday February 6th at 3pm. in the Kilbracken Arms Hotel.

Red Cross A.G.M.

The Annual General Meeting of Drumreilly Red Cross Branch and Area Committee will be held in the Community Centre on this Thursday January 27th at 8.30 sharp. All members please attend.

School Enrolment Week

St. Mary's N.S. is hosting an enrolment week from Monday January 24th to Wednesday February 2nd. Application forms for enrolment in 2011 are available. All interested are invited to come and see how the school is run, and the extra-curricular activities offered.
