Open day: Lanesboro Community College will be holding its open day on Thursday January 27th. This is an exciting day in the school and students, 5th and 6th class from all National schools in the area are invited to attend.

Present 1st years and others will then display much of what they have learned since coming to the college. It is a very enjoyable experience for both the national school children and the first years who love to see their old classmates and show off their knowledge. Pupils from outside the town will be collected by bus as heretofore. Thanks too all teachers and pupils who make the effort to attend.

GOLDEN JUBILEE

Lanesboro Community College is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. To celebrate there will be a social evening in the school at Easter. Special guests will be the students and staff from 1960 together with staff and students from our amalgamation year 1989. All past pupils will be most welcome on the night. There is the usual difficulty of tracking down people from back then so I am asking that anybody from either era who would be willing to help please contact the school at 043 33 21139 or email lanesborocc.ias@eircom.net. It should be a wonderful night of reminiscing and meeting old friends and any help you can offer will be hugely appreciated.

We would encourage people to report any incidents of dumping to the prevention officer at Longford County Council.
