Recent deaths: The death took place in America of Mary Takei (nee Farrell) late of Middleton Killashee. Mary spent most of her life in the United States, she was predeceased by her husband Bill and her brother Johnny.
Mary is survived by her daughter Karen sons Brian and Kevin, sister Nan Casey, Ballymacormack and brothers Tom Killashee, Jimmy Caldramore and Peter Curraghacreehan and their families. Deepest sympathy is extended to all her relatives and friends . May her soul rest in peace.

There will be a players meeting on Friday night 28th January at 8pm in the Clubhouse Killashee. St Brigids annual dinner dance will take place on Saturday 5th February in the Sin Bin restaurant in Longford Rugby Club. Music on the night is by the fabulous Sean Brennan and tickets are 25 euro each. Tickets can be purchased from any committee member. The following awards are up for presentation on the night. Hall of fame, club person of the year, senior player of the year and junior player of the year. Club members is now due and can be got from registrar Pat Farrell or any committee members. 40 euro for players , 20 euro for non players and students 50 euro family rate.
Killashee Minor Board are holding a meeting in the clubhouse Killashee on Friday 28th January at 8.30pm. The meeting is to decide on coaches for 2011 for the various teams. All interested in helping out in any way are invited to attend.

Lanesboro Community College will be holding its open day on Thursday 27th January. This is an exciting day in the school and 5th and 6th class students from all national schools in the area are invited to attend. Present 1st years and others will then display much of what they have learned since coming to the college. It is a very enjoyable experience for both the national school children and the first years who love to see their old classmates and show off their knowledge. Pupils from outside the town will be collected by bus as here to fore . Thanks too all teachers and pupils who make the effort to attend.
Lanesboro Community College is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. To celebrate there will be a social evening in the school at Easter . Special guests will be the students and staff from 1960 together with the staff and students from our amalgamation year 1989. All past pupils will be most welcome on the night.
