A Drumlish family is appealing for information on their beloved pet cat, Bucko, who has been missing since August.
The Breslin family have had six-year-old Bucko since he was a kitten, and he has never gone astray. However, his distraught owner Yvonne Breslin believes it’s possible he may have been frightened off during the Marquee in Drumlish festival and now can’t find his way home.
“Bucko is very recognisable since he doesn’t have a tail,” Yvonne explained. “He also doesn’t have any hair on his tummy because he over-grooms himself.
“The only other noticeable thing about him is that his left hind leg turns in a little.”
The brown tabby cat, who is micro-chipped and neutered, suffered a traumatic experience a few months back, and thanking Emma Plant and her caring staff at The Veterinary Clinic, Yvonne revealed that he made a full recovery but remained nervous after the incident.
“Because of this he will probably run away from anyone who approaches him too quickly,” Yvonne continued.
Last week, there were three sightings of a cat resembling Bucko in a Drumlish housing estate and the family are urging locals who spot a brown tabby cat with no tail to try and take a photo of it and either send it to, or call, 0861525902 or 0868304131.
The family would like to thank everyone who has helped in the search so far, by spreading the word, sharing posts online, handing out and displaying fliers and leaving food out for Bucko.
“The outpouring of kindness has been heart-warming and it is extremely hopeful that Bucko will be home very soon,” Yvonne concluded.
