Cathal Cregg, stone carver by trade, and qualified Dietary Counsellor will be giving a talk on food and nutrition on June 13 in the EDI Centre, Longford.

Cathal runs specialist stone contractor Cregg Stone, with major contracts including the Dublin Criminal Courts and St Mel’s Cathedral, Longford. Also a keen sportsman and mountaineer, Cathal holds the record for the fastest climb of the 5 highest mountain peaks on the British Isles.

Despite being physically fit, Cathal found himself in the doctor’s office in 2008, a visit which prompted his journey into nutrition. Now a Dietary Counsellor, with this talk, Cathal hopes to help people avoid a similar visit by giving them the information they need to make informed choices about their diet.

Cathal’s “What effect does food have on our Health and Wellbeing?” will take place in the EDI Centre, Mastertech Business Park, Athlone Road, Longford on Thursday, June 13 at 8pm. Tickets cost €5 and can be purchased at the door. Light refreshments will also be served on the night. For more information about the event, contact the EDI Centre on 043 3347515.
