Swimming: Congratulations to 4th Year student Darragh Greene who beat his personal best time for the breast stroke and won 2 bronze medals in the 100m and 200m in the Dave McCullagh Open Gala in University of Limerick recently. This was a very prestigious gala and Darragh is the first Longford person to win a medal at this event. A great achievement for Darragh, well done.

Orals: The Leaving Certificate orals will take place after Easter. The school is opened over the Easter holidays to facilitate the Irish orals on Wednesday and Thursday 4th and 5th April.

Seachtain na Gaeilge: Bhuaigh Kamil Rozel agus Rhys Penrose príomhdhuais na seachtain. Dhear said comórtais ealaíre. Rang 133 a bhuaigh An Tráth na gCeist, ar an bhfoireann bhí Niall Farrelly, Andrew Gallagher, Kuba Fedorczak agus Usman Afzaal. Maith sibh.

Playboy of the Western World: Thank you to Ms McGuinness who organised for some of our students to attend a brilliant production of Playboy of Western World in Backstage Theatre on Tuesday last.

Aware Talk: On Thursday last, Oliver Smith from Aware came into the school to deliver the “Beat The Blues” Programme to all 4th Year Students. The programme dealt with mental health issues. The students found it very beneficial.

TY Trip: The TY class along with Fr. Joe and Ms Farrell went to Streete, Co Westmeath to play soccer and then they continued on to Blanchardstown where they were treated to a movie and lunch in Eddie Rockets. A great day was had by all.

Senior Soccer: The senior soccer team were in action in the West Leinster Final on Friday last. At the time of press we have no result but we hope we have some good news to report after Easter.

Rugby: Hard luck to the 1st and 2nd year rugby team who were defeated by Moyne CS on Thursday last.

Palm Sunday: The TY class participated in the Palm Sunday services in St. Mel’s Cathedral centre on Sunday last

Easter Holidays: The college will be closed for Easter holidays for two weeks. It will reopen on Monday 8th April 2013. We hope everybody enjoys the well-deserved break.
