All Ireland Basketball Champions: Congratulations to Ms Kearney, Mr Thornton and the U-16 Basketball team who beat Moyle Park College, Clondalkin, Co. Dublin on a final score line of 45- 36. This is the second All Ireland title that this team have claimed this year. See match report.
European Languages Week: This week students enjoyed a number of activities to celebrate European Languages; French and Spanish, studied in our school. The activities included a table quiz, poster competition, treasure hunt, bingo and number games, French and Spanish cooking and French and Spanish films, Many thanks to all the teachers who facilitated all the events.
Junk Kouture: 6 teams travelled to Castlebar, Co. Mayo for the regional finals of the Junk Kouture competition. We are very proud of the efforts of all students but unfortunately none of the teams made it through. The teams were commended for their creativity and total embracement of the brief which was to utilise recycled materials for the purpose of costume design. Many thanks to Ms Hetherton for all her help in preparing the costumes and for accompanying the teams to the final.
Senior Boys All Ireland Semi Final: The senior boys have advanced to the All Ireland Semi Final against Clonakilty. The match is provisionally scheduled for Easter Saturday 30th March. The venue has yet to be confirmed. Please keep an eye on our twitter feed @CnocMhuire or the Leinster Council’s Website. Please support this talented group of footballers and their manger Mr Carrol on this tremendous achievement.
Coláiste Uisce: The Transition Year students and Ms Sheridan and Ms Tully will be going to Coláise Uisce on our return to school. This trip aims to combine the Irish Language and Outdoor activities. In the past this has been a highlight of Transition year and no doubt this year will be no exception. More details on our return to school.
