55 acres of mature forestry at Cranalagh Mor, near Edgeworthstown will be one of the focal points of an upcoming property auction, which will take place at 3pm in The Property Exchange, Trim, Co Meath on Wednesday, April 10.
The block of forestry is situated in a highly accessible location and benefits from a shared entrance directly onto the N55 road, just over two kilometers from Edgeworthstown. The property was planted by the vendors around 1981 or 1982.
Such a substantial plantation rarely comes to market in this area and interest is expected from sawmills, forestry companies, and investors. Approximately 33 acres is covered by Lodgepole Pine, with another 21 acres under Sitka Spruce. A further 1.5 acres of land is unplanted. The soil consists mainly of cut-away peat and access to the forested area is over a hardcore right-of-way over adjoining Coillte lands. A felling licence for the plantation was issued by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food on August 12, 2010 and is valid for a period of five years.
The lands are available for inspection at any reasonable time. For full information, contact T E Potterton Real Estate Alliance on 046 9431391. Full details of the auction are available at www.tepotterton.com.
