Bornacoola Gun Club will host their annual Christmas monster draw on Friday December 17th in the Copper Still Dromod over fifty prizes to be won. Cards are available from any gun club member.

Bornacoola gaa club AGM took place on Saturday, 11th December in Bornacoola Community Centre. There was only one change of personal at the top table it being the office of treasurer in which Jackie Conboy was resigning and Patricia Bohan took over with the assistant treasurer going to John Reynolds. Chairman Declan Conboy gave a detailed report on the affairs of the club over the past year, there was also a lively debate on the training and management structure in the club and we are looking forward to another new manager this year after the resignation of last years manager Bernard Morris.
We would like to offer our condolences to the family and friends of Peter Meehan, Ballinamore and formerly from Shannon Road, Dromod. who died on Thursday last at St. Patrick's Hospital, Carrick on Shannon. Peter was laid to rest in Corraleehan cemetery on Saturday last. May he Rest in Peace.

It seems a very short time since we were walking around Bornacoola gaa pitch in the frost and fog for the annual goal mile anyway it is nearly round to that time again and a note in from organiser Noel Mahon tell us that the 7th annual Leitrim Goal Mile will take place on New Years day Jan. 1st 2011 at the Bornacoola gaa club grounds. Special guests attending will be Charlie McGettigan, Mick Flavin, Declan Nerney, Longford pipe band, O'Neill dancing school. Following the walk there will be the usual refreshments and entertainment in The Copper still with music by the Rodeo Man and of course Tommy will take the stand for the auction.
