Festive season: On Friday evening hundreds of parents adults and children thronged the streets of Ballinagh for the visit of Santa and for the ceremony of turning on the town's Christmas lighting for the eleventh consecutive year.

Festive season: On Friday evening hundreds of parents adults and children thronged the streets of Ballinagh for the visit of Santa and for the ceremony of turning on the town's Christmas lighting for the eleventh consecutive year.

Just after 7pm and led by world renowned piper Sean Kelly the man from the North pole arrived to a cheering crowd in the Town's main St. Travelling on a special float courtesy of the Sheanon family Cashel Santa was greeted by the school choir who from the reviewing stand kindly provided by B & F stores sang Christmas ballads and played traditional Irish music.
