Four people were hospitalised following a three car collision that occurred at approximately 12.15pm today (Sunday, September 28) in Longford.
Gardaà and emergency services, including an air ambulance, were dispatched to the scene of the accident which happened between the Ballinalee roundabout and the Red Cow roundabout on the N4 Longford town by-pass.
A spokesperson from the Garda Press Office confirmed to the ‘Longford Leader’ that four people injured in the crash were hospitalised.
“One of those involved appears to be seriously injured but the injuries are believed to be not life threatening,†added the spokesperson.
Although there was minimal disruption to traffic while emergency services dealt with the accident, motorists, many of whom were en-route to the Flynn & Lynch Life & Pensions Longford Junior Football Championship ‘A’ Final between Emmet Og Killoe and Longford Slashers at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, were advised to avoid that particular stretch of the N4.
The scene was cleared by 2.45pm.
