Initiative to support Jack & Jill Foundation

Toymaster is providing customers with an opportunity to support the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation this summer.

The store is selling small ‘Toby’ puppies at a cost of €3 and all proceeds from the sale will go to the foundation. Toytown Toys in association with Toymaster in Longford town has also come on board and is encouraging all its customers to give generously to this campaign, which was launched on June 23 last. It will run until the end of August.

Puppies are being distributed to each store for sale across 33 counties and stand out posters are on display at points of purchase in-store.

The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation provides direct funding to families of children with brain damage up to four-years-old who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay, enabling them to purchase home respite care.

The organisation also provides non-oncology end of life care and liaison nurses and gives the gift of time to families by doing the shopping or taking the other children to the park or for a night’s sleep.

The Jack & Jill story began in 1996 when Jack Irwin was born healthy. Two days later he suffered some invasive trauma in the hospital’s nursery and lived for just 22 weeks.
