Longford thefts and break-ins
There were a number of burglaries and break-ins throughout Longford over the festive period. On December 28 last at 2:15pm, a wallet was taken from a parked vehicle on Ballymahon Street. The wallet contained a sum of money and gardaí would like to speak with a man who was observed beside the car at the time of they incident.
Gardaí are also investigating a break-in at St Michael’s BNS in Longford town that occurred between 4pm on December 29 and 12 noon the following day. The culprits made their way into the school by smashing a a toilet window and subsequently “ransacked the principal’s office”. Around the same time, a private house was burgled at Lisbrack Road, Longford and a sat nav was also taken from a parked vehicle in Annaly Park.
Gardaí are appealing to the public for assistance with their investigations and have warned everyone to “exercise vigilance” over their property.
