Spate of burglaries in Longford town

Gardai in Longford town are appealing to witnesses to come forward in relation to three burglaries which took place in the town over a five day period from October 8th to 12th.

Gardai in Longford town are appealing to witnesses to come forward in relation to three burglaries which took place in the town over a five day period from October 8th to 12th.

The first burglary took place on Monday October 8th in a private residence on the Dublin Road in the town. The owner of the property had been in the front garden between the hours of 12.30pm and 2pm while an intruder gained entry through the back door and a sum of money and jewellery was taken.

The second incident took place between 12am and 9.30am on Thursday, October 11th when an intruder gained entry to a house on Canal Turn, Main Street, Ballymahon via an upstairs window. A quantity of cash was stolen from the property.

Meanwhile, last Friday October 12th, a residence at The Hallows in the town was broken in to between the hours of 12pm and 3pm and a safe containing cash and personal documents were taken.
