Especially for its Dublin run, the role of Billy Flynn will be played by Duncan James of pop band Blue, who has also previously appeared on ITV’s ‘Dancing on Ice’. Other stars taking to the stage at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre include Ali Bastian (Hollyoaks/The Bill) as Roxie Hart, Tupele Dorgu (Coronation Street) as Velma Kelly, and Bernie Nolan (The Nolans/The Bill/Brookside) as Mama Morton.

Since it’s debut in 1975, the stage production of ‘Chicago’ has been a runaway success, accumulating a string of Tony and Laurence Olivier Awards. The 2002 Hollywood adaptation, starring Renée Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Richard Gere, followed the same trend, picking up six Academy Awards and three Golden Globes.

To enter the competition, answer the following question and email it to newsroom@longford-leader.ie with the subject ‘Chicago’:

Name the actor who will play the role of Billy Flynn in ‘Chicago’ during the show’s Dublin performances?

Competition closes at 1pm on Friday 16 August. Winner must be able to collect tickets from the Longford Leader office.
