Troy moves to defend
PAC chief

Controversies surrounding Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman John McGuinness are the results of “sinister elements” at play.

Controversies surrounding Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman John McGuinness are the results of “sinister elements” at play.

According to Fianna Fail TD Robert Troy, the Carlow-Kilenny politician may have “stepped on some people’s toes” during a previous spell as junior minister with the Department of Environment.

“I watched what happened last week where John gave three hours to questioning and he addressed every single one that was asked of him,” said Mr Troy.

“Unfortunately there are people out to discredit John as chair of the PAC which is sad as it is one of the most important committees in the Dail.”
