The JCB is on standby to break the ice on Gartylough for the GAA Swim on St Stephen's Day. As a result of re-sodding in the football field, the pitch is now closed and the usual Charity Match will not take place on St Stephen's Day. Instead it was agreed to hold a swim in Gartylough and already over 20 brave souls have agreed to take part. Sponsorship Cards are available for anyone brave enough to make a splash and the club are asking for generous support. There will also be a Bong Ball Competition and – weather permitting – Duck Racing. The Bong Ball should prove to be good craic and keep people entertained for some time. Proceedings will get underway at 1.30 pm and Irish Music will be provided in the Breffni Arms Hotel & Leisure Complex from 3.00 o'clock onwards. A Raffle will be held with the proceeds going to the Active Age Group and St Vincent de Paul. The club would like to see as many as possible from the general area attending and making it a community event.
The club have rooms reserved in a Galway City Hotel on Saturday 29th January and the cost will be a very reasonable 65 euro for Dinner, Bed and Continental Breakfast. A Bus will be provided if necessary. Payment should be made as soon as possible to the Club Chairman so that the booking may be confirmed. This annual outing is always very enjoyable where players and supporters get together for a bit of craic before serious training gets underway.

The hall was packed with parents and relatives while all the pupils went through their paces on the stage. All the teachers were present and were justifiably proud of the event. Thanks is due to the teachers for putting such an effort into the concert and the pupils for putting on such a good show. Everyone present enjoyed the night. This year the children from the school took part in the Christmas Cards for School's Project. Each child got to design their own unique Christmas card. There will be special packs of these cards which will include a selection of the children's designs available to buy in the Post Office, Bargain Buys, Lynch's Newsagents and also from the Secretary's office in the school.
