CRIB: You may have noticed that the Christmas crib has recently been located in the centre of the village. The Christmas crib and figures has just recently been fully refurbished by two local artists.

Dromod Development would like to thank the local artists for their time and effort and for the excellent job that they done. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone.

GUN CLUB

Bornacoola Gun Club held their annual Christmas monster draw on Friday last December 17th in the Copper Still Dromod there were over fifty prizes won. First prize was won by Gerry Gearty the full list of winners and sponsors will appear in fort coming issues. Thanks to The Copper Still for their hospitality and to Tom Moran for the music. Also on the night a substantial donation was given from the gun club to Bornacoola Youth Club. Finally a very Happy Christmas and New Year to all our members.

SYMPATHY

We would like to offer our condolences to the family and friends of Anna McEllin nee Bohan, Drumard, Mohill who died on Friday last at The North West Hospice, Sligo. Anne was laid to rest in Mohill cemetery on Sunday last. May she Rest in Peace.

ART EXHIBITION

There will be a Christmas Art Exhibition at the Serendipity Art Gallery, Bridge Street, Carrick-on-Shannon. Co. Leitrim for the month of December, times Mon to Sat 11-6 & Sun 2-6.Oils Watercolours and Prints by local artists; Veronica O'Connor, Ethel McVeigh, Annabel Langrish, Cormac O'Leary, Monica O'Meara, J Noone and Margie Dunne.

We would like to offer our condolences to Sean and Cathy Beirne, Eddercloone o the death of Cathy's father Patrick McGauran, Sonnagh, Aughnacliffe who died on Friday last at Mullingar General Hospital. Patrick was laid to rest in Purth cemetery on Monday last. May he Rest in Peace.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul would like to say a big thanks to all who contributed to their annual appeal on last weekend. The total collected at Cloonturk and Bornacoola Masses was 1400 euro.

DRAW

Bornacoola Club Draw tickets for 2011 are now on sale by most club members we would urge all to make a special effort to get one or two extra this year. Subscription for the year is €20 our coordinator recons the would make an ideal Christmas gift!

GOAL MILE

Noel Mahon tell us that the 7th annual Leitrim Goal Mile will take place on New Years day Jan. 1st 2011 at the Bornacoola gaa club grounds. Special guests attending will be Charlie McGettigan, Mick Flavin, Declan Nerney, Longford pipe band, O'Neill dancing school. Following the walk there will be the usual refreshments and entertainment in The Copper still with music by the Rodeo Man and of course Tommy will take the stand for the auction. All monies collected will go to help the poorest of the poor. So As ever your support would be greatly appreciated. Sponsorship cards are available from Noel contact number 0872646931.
