100 YEARS YOUNG: Congratulations to the parish most senior citizen Mrs Mary Carthy, Druminmore who was 100 years young on Monday 20th of December.

100 YEARS YOUNG: Congratulations to the parish most senior citizen Mrs Mary Carthy, Druminmore who was 100 years young on Monday 20th of December.

Mrs Carthy nee Quinn is originally from Drumlish but has lived for many years in Rooskey. She celebrated her birthday with a party for family and friends. Mrs Carthy is one of the most interesting people to talk to with a wide knowledge of all things historical. We wish her continued good health and happiness in Druminmore with her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The death has occurred of Brendan O'Connell, Druminmore, and formerly Dublin. Brendan and his wife Marian and family have lived in Druminmore for the past four years, and were well regarded members of the commumity. Brendans funeral mass took place on Monday last. He is predeceased by his daughter Lisa. The deceased is survived by his wife Marian, family, grandchildren and extended family, neighbours and friends. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
