Hats off to Clonguish ladies
In sunny but arctic Pearse Park. Clonguish minor ladies football team retained their crown to win back to back minor championships. They defeated a young Mostrim ladies team on the score of 4:11 to 2:5. This talented Clonguish team did all the groundwork in the first half when they raced into a 4:9 to 1:2 lead with a brace of goals each from Aoife Nolan and soccer international Aoife Darcy. Mostrim put in a plucky display in the second half but were unable to overcome this huge half time lead. This set of players have won all their championships from under 12 right up to minor level and here's hoping they stick together and land senior championships in the future. Great credit to Michael Mulvey manager and Eileeen Hegarty his assistant for all their hard work in preparing this team . The team panel was :- Amy Faughnan, Grainne Moore, Mairead Moore, Therese Corcoran, Leigh Casey (player of the match) Sinead Macken (captain) Aideen Gregg, Catherine Ross, Ailbhe McGowan, Laura Healy, Oonagh Shanley, Aoife Darcy, Oonagh McGowan, Aoife Nolan, Niamh Kiernan, Lynn Gregg, Bernadette Ross, Lisa Vicella, Shannon Woods.
