Concerns are growing in Northern Ireland over the whereabouts of a Longford family living there.

Police in the North say they are becoming increasingly concerned for the family, which has been missing since earlier this week.

John Kelly, Melissa Teague and their six children - who are originally from Longford town - had been living in the Ballymartin area of Co Down.

The children are aged from nine months to five years and were last seen with their parents last Wednesday.

The PSNI is appealing to any members of the public with any information about the whereabouts of the family to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Wright appealed for those with information to come forward.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who has knowledge of the family’s whereabouts or who may have noticed a family of two adults and six children in the local area or further afield,” he added.

“We are keen to make contact with the family and I am asking John or Melissa to phone us on the 101 number.”
