A heartbroken local family are appealing for information, after their beloved collie dog went missing less than two weeks ago.
Trixie was staying at a friend of the family’s near Lisbrack, when she wandered off. Several locals reported that they had seen the beloved pet in the Killashee area on Sunday, October 19, however, there have been no sightings since.
Speaking to the Leader, Trixie’s owner, Caroilin Callery explains, “We have had her for 17 years.
“We have her since she was about six weeks old, and my kids were reared with her. They’re all heartbroken.”
Revealing that Trixie is an extremely loyal pet, Caroilin adds, “I want to repay that loyalty and leave no stone unturned in trying to find her.”
“We’ve gone house to house through Killashee and we’ve had so many sightings of her,” Caroilin continues, extending her thanks to the locals who have helped and supported the family in their search.
The family believe that Trixie may have been trying to make her way back home to Tarmonbarry, and they are appealing to locals who may have had any sighting of her since October 19 to get in touch.
Though largely hidden by her fur, Trixie has a collar and a pink tag, which carries the dog’s name and Caroilin’s mobile number on it. Caroilin also adds that, having been brought up with children, Trixie ‘would have a natural gravitation towards children’.
Caroilin is appealing to anyone who has an outhouse or shed to check those areas, as she believes Trixie may have tried to seek shelter.
Eager to have their beloved Trixie back home, the family are urging anyone with any clues on Trixie’s whereabouts to get in contact. Caroilin can be contacted on 087 1334008.
