Fire crews bring Ballymahon blaze under control

A number of units from Co Longford’s fire services division are this morning working to control a blaze at a vacant premises in Ballymahon.

A number of units from Co Longford’s fire services division are this morning working to control a blaze at a vacant premises in Ballymahon.

The fire, which broke out during the early hours of this morning (Wednesday), brought with it traffic distruption and plenty of local concern as firefighters battled to make the scene safe.

It’s understood the building which previously had been home to a restaurant and pool room, had been vacant for some time.

No injuries or damage to any adjoining premieses was reported.
