Lives are being put in danger because of inadequate ambulance response times at Mullingar’s Midland Regional Hospital.

That’s according to Independent Roscommon-South Leitrim TD Denis Naughten, who obtained the figures from the HSE’s National Ambulance Service (NAS) in recent days.

They showed 76 per cent or more than three-quarters of paramedic units exceeded the HSE’s own target of 20 minutes to deliver patients and return to corresponding calls.
