Staff at St Joseph’s Care Centre in Longford town are currently gearing up for an exciting ‘Gathering’ event at the end of this month.
In the coming week’s staff - both past and present - from the facility in Longford town will gather together for the first time in a long time and celebrate all that is good about their lives.
The event takes place on Thursday, November 21 at Longford’s very prestigious Sin Bin. Proceedings kick off at 7:30pm and organiser June Belton is looking forward to the occasion. Ms Belton worked as a nurse at St Joseph’s for a long number of years and retired a couple of years ago. “A crowd of us, that are retired, got together recently and thought it would be nice to organise a gathering for all staff, so if was from that our ‘Gathering’ event grew,” she said, adding that it was expected that a large crowd would descend on the local Rugby Club on the night. “With Christmas coming up as well, it just seemed like the right thing to do, so we are having a buffet style meal at the Sin Bin and we can all catch up with each other there. All staff of St Joseph’s are invited to come along and join in the fun. It will be a fabulous occasion.” Tickets are available by contacting Fiona at St Joseph’s Care Centre or committee members.
