Woman dies after being struck by car near Mohill

A woman who was struck by a car near Mohill yesterday evening died from her injuries. The woman in her 60s was seriously injured when she was struck by a car shortly after 5pm on the outskirts of Mohill village. She was taken by ambulance to Sligo General Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the car was uninjured.

Gardai are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.

The road remained closed to traffic overnight and diversions are in place. Forensic collision investigators are due to examine the scene this morning.
