Former Fine Gael Local Area Representative, Cllr James Keogh announced to the Leader last week that he has changed political allegiance and is now running Independent.

Cllr Keogh made the revelations during a recent town council meeting, after he berated the Fine Gael party in relation to the way in which the coalition government had handled the country’s domestic affairs.

Such was his attack on the party, the Leader approached Cllr Keogh and asked if it was his intention to step down, to which he replied, “I have done that already; I’m an independent now”. See page 5 for more details.
