This was the damage vandals left behind them during a botched raid on a Longford town solicitors’ office last week, writes Liam Cosgrove.
The incident, which occurred at Connellans Solicitors, was the second episode of lawlessness to visit the law firm’s headquarters in the space of a few days.
The earlier incident, which stemmed from an outside bin catching fire, resulted in damage being caused to it and adjoining solicitors Geartys last Tuesday morning.
That was followed less than 24 hours later by an attempted but ultimately unsuccessful raid at the same premises.
“It’s the second incident of vandalism we have had in the past few days,” said Michael Connellan this week. The former Fianna Fail councillor revealed the culprits behind last Wednesday’s break-in were forced to flee empty handed despite some interior damage being caused.
