Sligo group 'Sean Nos ar an tSimann' which will represent the West in the All Ireland Talent Show on RTE1 on New Year's Eve has connections to the lakeside area. Two of the group's members - Niamh and Deirdreeeee Keins, Ballymote, Sligo are grandchildren of Mrs Ita Reilly, Drumhaldry, Moyne. For this group to go through on the night they need your vote, so please vote for them!


Credit Union sub office opens for business on Thursday, December 30 next from 6-7:30pm.


The results of the latest GAA lotto draw include numbers 1, 11, 22, 26. Consolations prises of €20 went ot Paddy Smith, Corfree; Laura Brady, Corfree; Sean McGahern, The Rocks; Seamus Reilly, Church View; Declan Nicholls, Cloone; PJ Madden, Gowna; Claire and Jane Smith, Sallaghan; Kylan Hartin, Portanure; Niamh Boylan, Corfree; Sharon, Siobhan and Michelle Brady. The jackpot now stands at €3,550 and next week's draw takes place in Fitzpatricks.


Lough Gowna GAA will hold a presentation dance on Sunday, January 2 at the Piker's Lodge. On the night there will be a presentation made to newly weds and the announcement of the Lord Mayor campaign will also take place. Your support would be very much appreciated on the night.


The Christmas Whist Game will take place on Wednesday, January 5 at the Piker's Lodge at 9pm.
