The countdown has begun to the opening of the eagerly-awaited Shaws Department Store in Longford town.

The company has revealed that the outlet in the Market Square will open next Thursday, October 24.

The addition of the Longford branch comes ahead of the company’s 150th anniversary next year, and follows hot on the heels of Shaws’ recent relocation of their Portlaoise store to a new premises in the town, which opened on September 5.

This latest phase in the company’s expansion is part of ongoing reinvestment by Shaws that has seen a number of new openings alongside extensive refurbishment of existing stores in recent years.

And when the Longford branch opens its doors next week, Shaws Department Stores will be trading from 16 separate locations across the country.

“We are delighted with the continued development and expansion of the company,” said the company’s managing director, Jonathan Shaw. “We are looking forward to further growing our business and catering for our new customers in Longford with our exciting selection of top brands that the Shaws name has become syonymous with.”

The Longford store will stock leading brands in clothing, footwear, accessories, household, gifs and china.
