Garda Frank Fallon took up official duties in Ardagh yesterday (Tuesday), moving from his previous posting in Edgeworthstown.

Supt Ian Lackey, from Granard Garda Station, confirmed the announcement when contacted on Monday.

“There was a garda presence out there until February when a member retired. Since then it was covered by Edgeworthstown, but now we have a garda who will be operational out there,” he said.
