As you know Mohill Community Network has brought great improvement to our town and the surrounding areas during 2010. Huge strides have been made by this very dedicated group of people and they are now embarking on plans for 2011. They would welcome people to get involved and show that they do take a pride in their own areas thereby proving "We do care about our surroundings". The disposal of litter along our roads, pavements and alleyways is unethical and people who are doing this , have to take responsibility for their actions. Thanks to the pupils teachers from our local schools for their dedication to the cause.

The people of Mohill lost a much loved and respected gentleman on the 28th January 2011 when Tom Lynch , Castle gardens Mohill died surrounded by his wife Maureen and family at St Patricks hospital Ck on Shannon. Tom had been ill for a number of years with an illness necessitating many painful treatments which he bore with courage and fortitude. We all remember Tom as a great family man , a gentleman with many qualities who was held in the highest esteem in the department of agriculture where he worked for years. The local GAA club and Mohill agricultural Show Committee have lost a very dedicated member. His removal took place from his residence to St Patrick's Church where members of the Mohill Show Committee and members of the local GAA clubs formed a guard of honour together with representatives of all sections of the community who were also in attendance at his concelebrated Mass at which his brother in law Fr Quinn was chief celebrant. The magnficent choir added to the solemnity of this sad occasion. To his wife Maureen, sons John Michael daughters Katherine Mary son-in-law, daughters in law, grandchildren, brothers , sisters and extended family we offer our deepest sympathy. May he rest in peace.
