COMMUNITY GAMES: A meeting concerning Castlepollard Community Games will be held in Hotel Castlepollard at 9.00pm next Friday, February 11th, to assess the level of interest there is among parents in having their children take part in this years Community Games.

It is very important, to ensure that the children of the area have the opportunity to take part, that there is large attendance of interested adults.

BLOOD DONOR CLINIC

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service are holding a Donor Clinic in Castlepollard GAA Centre, Pakenhamhall Road, Castlepollard, on Monday next, February 14th, between 5.00pm and 8.30pm. Every week in Ireland, 3000 donations are required. The uses for the donations are many and varied - from a routine surgical procedure to emergency surgery resulting from a road traffic collision, heart bypass, transplant, bleeding ulcer etc. New donors are always welcome and further information may be had by contacting the Lo-Call Donor Information Line on 1850 73 11 37, or by contacting John Healy, Area Organiser at the Ardee Regional Office on 041-6859994.

CHRISTMAS PARTY

Due to the severe weather over the Christmas period, the Coole Social Services Christmas Party has been re-scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 17th, at 3.00pm in Coole Hall. Also on the same date, the Easter Raffle and party will also take place, ensuring a very pleasant and enjoyable day for all.

ANONYMOUS

A meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous takes place every Tuesday evening in Room One, Parish Community Centre, Church Street, Castlepollard, at 8.30pm. For further information contact Bill on 087-6282646, or Jim on 044-9661887.

SCOUTS REGISTRATION

The registration evening for the newly formed Scout Group serving Castlepollard and surrounding areas will take place this coming Wednesday at Castlepollard Community College between 7.00pm and 9.00pm. The new group will bear the title "7th Westmeath Castlepollard", and will cater for boys and girls between 9 - 11 years "Cubs", and 12 - 15 years "Scouts". Following registration, weekly meetings will take place on Thursday evenings for the different age groups. A "Beavers" group, catering for 6 - 8 years of age, will be estabished in due course, and volunteers are being sought to act as leaders.
