Solo music, solo singing, dance, group instrumental and ballad groups all welcome. This will be held in mid March in Newtowncashel so get your act ready.

Upcoming Community Games events: U14 Table Quiz Mon March 7 in the Park House. County Talent Competitions in Newtowncashel in mid March. Art competition - watch this space for the date to be announced in the next few weeks. U13 Boys Indoor Soccer bring home 8 Silver County Medals. Congratulations to Joe Farrell, Anthony Thompson and Boys U13 team for coming in 2nd place in the Community Games County final for indoor soccer held in Kenagh last Saturday. A great win!

Community Games Draughts are now over for this winter. Many thanks to the children who participated, and all the parents who came to the training sessions to help the youngsters improve, especially Eamon O'Kane who took charge of all these teams. There was a great turn out for U10, U12 & U14 so hope the children keep playing draughts for next year.

DEFIBRILLATOR

Training will recommence in the coming weeks. It is hoped to have as many people as possible trained up in the use of the defibrillators. To book your place on a training course call Olive Quinn on 086 836 8277.

GUN CLUB

Moydow Gun Club requestthat all members refrain from Shooting Pheasants for the rest of the extended shooting season. This is in an effort to conserve the existing stock of breeding birds in our area and to give the pheasant population a chance to increase in numbers in 2011. Assistance in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Jackets with club logo are on sale. 40 euro each. Contact Owen McDermott or Andrew Gillen. Clayshooting taking place in Streete Sporting Clayshooting grounds on Thursday evenings from 7pm-9pm. Come and enjoy a shoot with a difference under flood lights. Valuable cash prizes to be won. IRISH DANCING

The Maureen Farrell school of Irish Dancing in Ardagh Community Centre on Tuesdays. 4pm for beginners, beginners also welcome at 5pm. Classes have recommenced in St Dominicks Community Centre in Kenagh on Monday. 4pm 1st session, 5.15pm 2nd session. Beginners welcome at both sessions. Longford County Show and Country Fair are having their Annual General Meeting on Thursday 10th February @ 8.30pm in Moydow Community Centre. All are welcome. Refreshments served.
