Counsellors and Psychologists from the National Educational Psychological Service (NEPS) will attend Templemichael College today to offer support to Leaving Cert students following the death of student Michael Warren on Monday.

The 18 year old from Newtownforbes died following a car accident on Saturday night. He was due to pick up his Leaving Cert results today.

A statement issued by Templemichael College said: “The staff and students of Templemichael College are shocked and deeply saddened by the news of the death of one of our Leaving Certificate students Michael Warren.

“Our sympathy and thoughts are with Michael’s family and friends at this tragic time.

“We need to support the members of our school community who have been affected by this tragic event and have implemented our Critical Incident Management Plan. Counsellors and Psychologists from the National Educational Psychological Service (NEPS) will be in attendance at the school on Wednesday to offer care and support to those affected at this difficult time.
