Met Éireann issues ‘status yellow’ weather warning for Longford

Weather forecasters have warned County Longford residents to prepare for wintry weather tonight and tomorrow.

Weather forecasters have warned County Longford residents to prepare for wintry weather tonight and tomorrow.

In a notice issued this afternoon, Met Éireann stated that, “occasional heavy hail, sleet and snow showers” are likely, and that “accumulations of up to 3cm in places, especially on higher ground” should be expected.

The warning is valid from 3am on Tuesday morning, February 11, to 6pm the same day, although it could be extended.
