Gardai are currently quizzing a man after over 100 cannabis plants were recovered following a planned search in Co Roscommon last night (Tuesday).
Early indications suggest the plants could have a street value of up to €80,000.
The find was made when specialist drugs teams searched a house in Ballynsheglish near Castlerea yesterday evening.
In excess of 100 cannabis plants at various stages of growth were recovered while the house itself was extensively adapted for the purpose of cannabis cultivation.
A 25-year-old male was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Roscommon Garda Station.
A technical examination of the scene is continuing and the investigation is ongoing.
